Titans
Attack on Titan Revolution titan shifters: Attack, Armored, Colossal, Female and Beast Titan serums, Titan Mastery and how shifting changes combat.
Introduction
Shifting turns your scout into a titan for a limited window, and it is the second progression line in Attack on Titan Revolution after the family and perk layers. Each form is unlocked through its own serum route and then improved separately through Titan Mastery, so a player can be strong on foot and still weak in titan form. Update 4 added Colossal and Female, and Update 5 added the Beast Titan with its own serum farm. This page covers the confirmed playable forms, what each one is good at, how the serum economy works, and how to avoid the common mistake of treating shifting as a free damage button.
Confirmed Titan Forms
| Titan | Unlock Route | Playstyle | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Attack Titan | Attack Serum route | Yeager-linked form, usual first target | Playable |
| Armored Titan | Armored Serum route | Heavy, durable form with a rare serum | Playable |
| Colossal Titan | Colossal Serum route | Burst damage with a nuke-style payoff | Update 4 |
| Female Titan | Update 4 shifter route | Covered by dedicated community builds | Update 4 |
| Beast Titan | Beast Serum farm | Newest form with its own serum route | Update 5 |
Titan Form Guide
Attack Titan
The Yeager-linked form and the usual first shifter target, unlocked through the Attack Serum route and treated as the entry point into titan combat. It is the form most community beginners are told to unlock first.
Armored Titan
A heavy, durable form unlocked through the Armored Serum route, which community reports describe as an extremely low drop and a long-term farm. Plan the serum as a long farm rather than a single evening of attempts.
Colossal Titan
A burst-oriented form added with Update 4, described by community builds as a nuke-style payoff with its own Colossal Serum and a short damage window. It rewards a player who waits for the right window instead of shifting on entry.
Beast Titan
The newest playable form, added on November 1, 2026 with its own Beast Serum farm and tested by the community against the new Freedom difficulty. It is the current headline form and the freshest reason to farm serums.
Female Titan
A form added with Update 4 and covered by dedicated community builds, giving shifter players a different movement and damage profile to test.
Core Mechanics
Serums are the unlock currency for each titan form. You farm a specific serum route, unlock the form, then spend time in titan form to build mastery. While shifted, your combat kit changes: movement, attacks and survivability all follow the titan rather than the ODM loadout, and the form ends on a timer or when the bar is depleted. That means a shifter build needs different stats from a blade build, and a raid group needs to know who is shifting and when. Titan Mastery is tracked as its own achievement line, which makes shifter progress visible separately from scout progression.
Advantages
Shifting gives a second combat identity without a second account. A player who has mastered ODM can keep the same family and perks and still gain a completely different playstyle once the shift unlocks. Titan forms also solve problems that ODM struggles with: a big health pool and heavy hits are useful in raids where staying close to a boss is dangerous. Because mastery is tracked separately, shifter investment is visible and does not compete directly with scout progression. Update 5 adding the Beast Titan also means the roster is still growing, so early shifter investment is unlikely to become obsolete.
Challenges
The serum route is the bottleneck. Armored Serum is reported by the community as an extremely low drop, and other serums follow the same farm-then-hope pattern, so the unlock can take far longer than the rest of the build. Once unlocked, the form is time-limited, which punishes players who shift at the wrong moment in a raid. Official drop rates are not published, so every probability on this page is a community estimate. And because titan combat uses a different kit, a strong ODM player can still be a weak shifter until mastery catches up. Practise the shift in low-stakes content before you bring it into a group that expects a competent titan.

Quick Tips
Do not shift at the start of a raid. The form is time-limited, and a shift burned while the boss is still in an invulnerable phase or across the map is a wasted cooldown. Wait until the group has committed and the target is reachable, then use the window for real damage instead of travel.
Build a shifter loadout separately from your ODM setup. The stats that keep a titan form alive are not the stats that maximise nape cuts, so copying a blade build into a shifter slot usually produces a form that dies early. Check the build page for the specific titan before spending rolls.
Treat Armored Serum as a long farm. Community reports describe the drop as extremely low, so do not plan a build around the Armored Titan until the serum is actually in your inventory. Farm it in parallel with other goals rather than stopping all progress to chase a single rare item.
